Cox’s Bazar Airport

Cox’s Bazar International Airport (IATA: CXB, ICAO: VGCB), located northwest of Cox’s Bazar city at coordinates 21°27′07″N 091°57′50″E, serves as the primary gateway to Bangladesh’s premier coastal tourism hub and the world’s longest natural sea beach. Just 1.5-2 km from the city center and Kolatoli Beach hotels like Ramada by Wyndham or Grace Cox Smart, it handles domestic flights from Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet via Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla, Novoair, and Air Astra, with international routes to Doha, Dubai, and Kuwait.

Upgraded from domestic status on October 13, 2025 (briefly reverted before reinstatement), the airport features a 9,000-foot runway extended over reclaimed sea blocks—the first such project in Bangladesh—supporting wide-body jets and future growth to 3 million passengers annually. Modern facilities include a new terminal with check-in counters, duty-free shops, customs/immigration, free WiFi, lounges like MTB Air Lounge (finger foods, charging ports, newspapers), baggage handling, and food outlets.

Proximity to attractions enhances its appeal: Sea Pearl Water Park (29 km), Pebble Stone Resort in Inani (16 mi), and beach hotels offer complimentary shuttles. Taxis, CNG autos, or buses reach Laboni Beach in 10-15 minutes for 100-200 BDT, making it ideal for quick beach access post-flight.
